Chief Minister Mamata unleashed a vicious attack on the Center and the Election Commission on Friday in response to the wave of administrative and police official transfers occurring in the state during the assembly election. The Trinamool leader made a “fresh” accusation while speaking at the event commemorating the publication of her party’s platform. Then she said that “President’s Rule has effectively already been imposed” in West Bengal, claiming that there is an ongoing plot to divide the state!

Mamata said, “They have already imposed President’s Rule,” while simultaneously criticizing the Central Government and the Election Commission for the transfer of police officers and bureaucrats. Even if they don’t say it out loud, their behavior shows it.” “It is customary to transfer certain officials during an election period,” she added. Although the Election Commission has the right to do so, it is subject to certain restrictions.

According to the Chief Minister, precise accusations must be made against the relevant police officer or bureaucracy in such cases. Moreover, transfers are usually restricted to individuals directly engaged in election-related tasks. However, given the way that police officers and bureaucrats are being transferred one after another in front of the 2026 Assembly elections, the Chief Minister has voiced concern that the state may encounter a serious crisis. “Where are the people supposed to get their food from?” she said. If there is a disruption in the ration supply, don’t blame me. I would definitely like to supply rations, but they have moved the State Food Department’s Principal Secretary to act as an observer.”

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed the problem of “under-scrutiny” voters in the state during that same event on Friday, stating that she had learned from credible sources that 2.2 million of the roughly 6 million names have been processed thus far. She went on to say that she has discovered that 1 million of the 2.26 million names will be removed off the rolls. Notably, a disproportionately large number of names from a certain community have been left out in the districts of Murshidabad, Malda, and the two Dinajpurs. People from the Rajbanshi, Matua, and Hindu communities are also impacted.

According to Chief Minister Mamata, she has been informed that a number of additional state personnel will be moved to other states. She pointed out that the people being brought in to take their place have never worked in West Bengal before. “They do not know the people here; they are unfamiliar with the local history, geography, and culture,” Mamata said. They don’t know anything about the districts, streets, or polling places.

Who is in charge of all of this? “Therefore, should any untoward incident occur, the BJP government will be held responsible,” she continued. Because the Election Commission serves as the BJP government’s parrot and is not independent.” Then, mocking the Central Government, she said, “What a shame! In order to have elections in Bengal, Modi-ji must enforce President’s Rule! Are they truly so afraid of Bengalis?
