Amit Shah’s warning: I will hang the Trinamool miscreants and goons upside down to set them straight; furthermore, I will put an end to corruption and deposit those very funds directly into the bank accounts of women and the youth.

Amit Shah issued a stern warning: “I will hang the Trinamool goons upside down and straighten them out.” Furthermore, responding to questions raised by the Trinamool regarding the BJP’s election manifesto, Amit Shah stated that if voted to power, his government would put an end to corruption and provide a monthly stipend of 3,000 rupees to women and unemployed youth. He added that the goons would be hunted down one by one and thrown into jail.

Amit Shah’s Reply to the TMC

On Monday, his third public rally was held in Raniganj. Speaking from the rally in Raniganj, West Bardhaman, Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered an interpretation of the BJP’s manifesto, stating that funds currently lost to the Trinamool’s corruption would instead be channeled directly into the bank accounts of women and the youth. It was he who, just last Saturday in Kolkata, had unveiled the BJP’s election manifesto—or ‘Sankalp Patra’ (Pledge Document). That document pledged that, if voted to power, the BJP would provide a monthly stipend of ₹3,000 to women and unemployed youth. The Trinamool Congress subsequently ridiculed the BJP’s manifesto, alleging that it was merely a mimicry of the Trinamool government’s own ‘Lakshmir Bhandar’ and ‘Yubasathi’ schemes—under which women and unemployed youth currently receive ₹1,500 per month (with women belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes receiving ₹1,700). Furthermore, questions were raised regarding the source of the funds required to provide this monthly stipend of ₹3,000.

At a rally in Raniganj, Shah said, “I heard Mamata Didi ask: ‘Where will we find such a vast sum of money?’ The truth is, the funds will materialize simply by putting an end to the corruption involving the ‘nephew.’ That very source will enable us to provide a monthly stipend of 3,000 [rupees] to women and the youth.” Shah added that the Trinamool Congress was operating a “syndicate raj” in West Bengal. Citing a number of issues, including corruption in the public distribution system, teacher recruitment, coal and sand mining, cattle smuggling, and municipal hiring, he attacked the state’s ruling party. He also gave the “goons” who were reportedly being protected by the Trinamool Congress a severe warning.

Shah’s Warning to TMC Goons

During his visit to Birbhum, Amit Shah leveled allegations of “goonda-raj” (rule of thugs) against the Trinamool Congress. He declared that the BJP would come to power in West Bengal after May 4, and these thugs would be hunted down and thrown into jail. He even issued a stern warning to miscreants, vowing to “hang them upside down to set them straight.” Shah stated, “Following the 2021 elections, our party workers here were subjected to immense atrocities. You must bid ‘tata-bye’ to the Mamata government. We will take it upon ourselves to hang the ‘cut-money’ takers and syndicate operators upside down to set them straight. After May 4, a ‘double-engine’ government will be established in this state. A new era of development will dawn in West Bengal.” Issuing a stern warning to Trinamool’s “thugs,” he added, “Stay indoors on April 23. Otherwise, come May 5, we will hunt you all down and put you behind bars. The people of West Bengal will answer bombs with ballots. They will answer fear with trust. I say to the residents of Birbhum: simply find the ‘Lotus’ symbol on the voting machine; we will take care of finding the Trinamool thugs.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah campaigns for the Assembly elections in West Bengal.

Shah reiterated today that the BJP is poised to form the government in West Bengal after May 4. He further declared, “I am issuing a public warning over the microphone to all the goons: the election is on April 23. Do not step out of your homes on that day; otherwise, there will be no escape for you.” Shah asserted that this time, no goon of Mamata’s would dare to prevent the voters of Bengal from casting their ballots. He further claimed that all nine assembly seats in Paschim Bardhaman would fall into the BJP’s kitty. He also stated that if the BJP comes to power, every instance of unrest that has occurred in the state between 2016 and 2026 will be thoroughly investigated. In his words, “Mamata Didi has turned ‘Sonar Bangla’ (Golden Bengal) into a ‘Syndicate Raj.’ We will restore the ‘Sonar Bangla’ envisioned by the great poet Rabindranath Tagore.”

Women’s Safety

“Despite being a female Chief Minister, she is unable to provide security to the mothers and sisters of Bengal,” Shah said, making fun of Mamata. Rather, she wonders why ladies go out at night! We are going to construct a Bengal where women may ride their scooters until one in the morning. Women will always be safe; occurrences like that at R.G. Kar and Durgapur won’t happen again.”
